Beware of the train!
01 September 2026
With the start of the new academic year and the resulting increase in passenger and vehicular traffic, the South Caucasus Railway company reminds residents of the Republic of Armenia of the critical need to strictly observe safety rules near railway infrastructure.
Special attention must be paid to children's safety. Railway tracks are not places for playing, walking, or leisure. Crossing the tracks is permitted only at designated and properly equipped locations, in full compliance with all safety requirements.
Parents whose children attend schools near railway tracks are strongly advised to regularly speak with them and remind them of the dangers associated with being on the tracks, railway bridges, near rolling stock, and other railway infrastructure facilities.
At the initiative of the SCR, a course on safe behavior around railways has been integrated into the school curriculum. However, the knowledge children acquire requires continuous reinforcement, meaning parents play a vital role in fostering responsible behavior among schoolchildren.
The SCR also appeals to motorists, urging them to strictly adhere to traffic rules at railway crossings. Drivers must cross the tracks only at designated areas, pay close attention to road signs and traffic lights, and comply with the instructions of traffic controllers.
Railway safety depends on everyone. Following these simple rules helps save lives and protect health—especially for children.
