Infrastructure Modernization
About 70% of the investments have been directed towards improving safety and infrastructure. Currently, there are no sections with unsatisfactory ratings on the Armenian railways.
- 3 new main bridges were built (Zamanlu, Satani, Kober-Tumanyan).
- More than 1 million sleepers have been replaced, of which 540,000 are reinforced concrete.
- Yerevan, Gyumri, and Vanadzor stations have been completely renovated.
- A 135 km long fiber-optic communication line (Sevan-Zod) has been laid.
Renewal of Rolling Stock and Depots
Since 2017, a large-scale rolling stock renewal program has been launched, ensuring comfortable and safe traffic.
- The newest EP2D electric trains have been acquired for suburban routes.
- Modern rolling stock for international passenger transportation was purchased in 2021.
- The locomotive and wagon depots of Gyumri have been completely renovated.
Logistics and Freight Transportation
Actively expanding international ties, the Company carries out freight transportation to 75 countries worldwide.
- Cargo transit time has been reduced by 2 times.
- The "Poti - Karmir Blur" accelerated container train is successfully operating.
- A state-of-the-art customs and logistics terminal has been established in Yerevan.
Passenger Transportation and Innovation
Extensive work has been done to improve the quality of passenger service, ensuring stable annual growth.
- There are 2 branded international trains operating to Tbilisi and Batumi.
- The travel time of the Yerevan-Batumi route has been reduced by 6 hours.
- The "Orion" ticket sales system has been introduced, reducing service time from 10 to 2 minutes.
